Outlander: My Blood Episode 6 Recap
Episode 6, titled “Nature Agency,” presents some of the most shocking developments in Outlander to date. Since the series began, I’ve found myself revisiting the intricate family history of Claire Beauchamp (Caitriona Balfe). It turns out he did not die in a car accident, as we once thought. Instead, Claire and Jamie (Sam Heughan) travel back to Scotland in 1714 and meet Jamie’s parents. The most startling revelation? Claire isn’t alone in this journey.

This episode centers around Julia’s intense labor and culminates in the birth of her son. Yes, this means Claire has a sibling. But who is this brother? Have we encountered him before in the series? Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts hinted at the big reveal, noting that “the head might explode” when the identity of Claire’s brother comes to light.
If you’ve been following Outlander lately, you’ll notice that the final season wrapped up with Claire and Jamie’s first daughter, Faith, surviving in Paris rather than dying. Instead, she may have given birth to Jane (Silvia Present) and Fanny Pocock (Florie May Wilkinson). The story has taken a complicated turn, especially when Jane recalls her past with Jamie’s son, William (Charles Vandervaart).
In Season 7, there’s also a moment where Roger (Richard Rankin) reunites with his time-traveling father (Nicolas Ralph), while Buck Mackenzie (Dialmaid Murtag) interacts with his parents, Dougal Mackenzie (Graham McTavish) and Geilis Duncan (Lotte Verby). It adds another layer to this already complex family tree.
Fans might be speculating about how Claire’s mysterious brother connects with characters we’ve seen. Is he Simon Fraser from Season 2? Or perhaps the son of Lord Lobato (Tony Curran)? There’s even talk that he could be Jamie’s deceased older brother, Willie, whom Brian and Ellen considered adopting.
When discussing Outlander: My Blood, creator Matthew B. Roberts mentioned that the path for Claire’s brother has always been part of the series DNA. “It’s been there since the pilot,” he said, indicating that he has a detailed plan moving forward.
Roberts is attuned to fan theories, expressing his appreciation for the wild speculations. “I imagined there were a million theories—I love that,” he shared. He also noted that although he has a direction planned, things could still change. “I want to keep everyone on their toes,” he teased, clearly hinting at unexpected twists ahead.
During a prior discussion, Roberts promised fans would learn more about what really happened to Claire and Jamie’s first child, Faith. “We’re actually working to show you the story,” he mentioned, assuring that there won’t be any mysteries left unattended.
So, what does Claire’s brother have to do with Faith’s fate? Could he play a role in fulfilling a prophecy of a future king of Scotland? Or might there be possibilities for a spinoff focusing on Claire’s time travel siblings? Who exactly is Claire’s brother?
The next episode of Outlander: My Blood will air on Friday, September 12th.
