AJ Brown’s Performance Draws Frustration from Fantasy Football Owners

Many in the fantasy football community are feeling dissatisfied with AJ Brown’s output this week.

However, Brown maintains that the situation is largely out of his hands.

During the Eagles’ 24-20 win over the Cowboys, which marked the start of the 2025 NFL season on Thursday night, Brown had just one target and managed a single catch for eight yards.

Following the game, he expressed that it was really beyond his control. “You know, that’s not something I can control,” he commented. Brown, who has topped 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons with the Eagles, added, “What I can control is my efforts when the ball comes my way.”

Even though Brown’s role was limited, quarterback Jalen Hurts didn’t have a stellar game either. He completed 19 of 23 passes for 152 yards without reaching the end zone, though he did run for 62 yards on 14 carries and found the end zone twice.

Saquon Barkley contributed with a touchdown and totaled 60 yards from 18 rushes.

On the receiving end, Jahan Dotson led the Eagles with three catches for 59 yards. Interestingly, Brown’s renowned teammate, Devonta Smith, finished with just three receptions, totaling 16 yards. Tight end Dallas Goedert also caught seven passes but could only muster 44 yards.

Nick Sirianni, the Cowboys’ head coach, reflected on the game afterward, underscoring the challenges faced.
