Vance Warns Republicans Ahead of Midterms

Vice President JD Vance has issued a caution to Republicans as the 2026 midterm elections approach. He acknowledges that while many within his party might be satisfied with the Trump administration’s accomplishments, such contentment could jeopardize their future goals.

In an interview with Lara Trump, Vance emphasized the heightened motivation of far-left activists. “They’re very angry right now,” he stated. Although he noted that GOP voters generally appreciate the administration’s handling of pivotal issues like the economy, crime, and border security, he expressed concern that the Democratic base might be propelled to the polls out of frustration.

He remarked, “We’ve done a lot of what we said we were trying to do, so our people aren’t mad.” Nonetheless, he underscored the critical need for GOP supporters to remain vigilant, particularly regarding issues like urban crime and immigration.

Vance urged party affiliates to unite in voting, warning against the potential consequences of a Democratic win. “If you want to hand over government to people defending murderers on the streets of DC, don’t vote,” he cautioned. “But if you actually want to keep securing the southern border and continue fighting inflation, you have to get out there and vote.” This proactive stance highlights the stakes his party faces in the upcoming elections.

Interestingly, even as some Republicans look beyond 2026, Vance is being considered as a possible candidate for 2028, hinting at a future leadership role post-Trump. However, he remains focused on current responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of maintaining party unity for the elections ahead. “This is the most important job I’ve ever had,” he declared, noting the significance of his role while also acknowledging the personal fulfillment he gains from being a father.
