U.S. Acknowledges Israel’s Attack in Qatar

On Tuesday, the White House communicated that President Donald Trump was set to inform Qatar regarding an “immediate attack” by Israel. This came as he quickly coordinated with Steve Witkov, his special envoy to the Middle East.

Israeli military operations were directed at high-ranking Hamas officials in Doha, a move they described as “An Accurate Strike.” According to Trey Yingst, the chief foreign correspondent for Fox News, the explosion in the Qatari capital specifically targeted Khalil Al-Hayya and Zaher Jabarin.

“This morning, U.S. troops notified the Trump administration that Israel had commenced an attack on Hamas, unfortunately situated within Doha,” said Caroline Leavitt, the White House press chief. “Our allies, who bravely strive to broker peace, have faced unilateral aggression within Qatar, which does not further Israeli or American objectives.”

“That said, eliminating Hamas, which capitalizes on the suffering of Gazans, is crucial. President Trump swiftly directed Envoy Witkov to notify Qatar of the impending strike,” Levitt noted.

Israeli Actions Targeting Hamas Leadership in Qatar

Levitt expressed that President Trump regards Qatar as an essential ally and feels regretful regarding the attack’s location.

She also mentioned that the President spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu post-strike.

Hamas Responds to U.S. Criticism

“The Prime Minister conveyed to President Trump a wish to expedite peace efforts. Trump believes this unfortunate incident could ironically serve as a catalyst for peace,” Levitt stated in a press briefing. “He also thanked Qatar’s Emir and Prime Minister for their enduring support, assuring them that such incidents would not recur on their soil.”

Witkov and Secretary of State Marco Rubio participated in a call with Qatar as part of the ongoing discussion, according to Levitt.
