Lauren Daigle Advocates for Child Safety on Capitol Hill

Renowned Christian music artist Lauren Daigle recently visited Capitol Hill to raise awareness about online safety for children. She emphasized the alarming presence of predators who exploit children globally, a reality that deeply resonates with her.

Daigle is actively supporting the bipartisan Stop CSAM Act, which aims to combat the sexual exploitation of children. The legislation focuses on enhancing accountability within the tech industry and providing support for victims. She explained that the law will improve reporting requirements for harmful content, making it easier to address and eliminate such material.

“It’s essential to bring big tech companies into the conversation, highlighting that there are resources available to tackle this issue,” Daigle stated. “It’s a global problem impacting users of popular apps that we all engage with regularly.” She called for a united effort to create a safer environment for children.

Daigle feels a personal connection to this cause, tracing her passion back to her college years when she first encountered the concept of human trafficking. “It struck me hard,” she recalled, “how children suffer around the world, and I couldn’t just stand by.” She encouraged others to seek out resources from international organizations dedicated to the prevention of online abuse.

As she presses for action, Daigle hopes to amplify the urgency of this issue, inspiring people to take a stand. “We must support initiatives that defend children and advocate for stronger laws against CSAM,” she said, expressing her excitement about her time spent at Capitol Hill.
