Revisions from the BLS confirm Trump was correct

Major Job Count Revision by BLS

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has made significant revisions to its employment figures, marking the largest adjustment ever recorded. They now report that from April 2024 to March 2025, 911,000 jobs were created. The White House asserts that this revision supports President Donald Trump’s viewpoint.

The administration contends that this downward adjustment indicates the economy Trump took over is even weaker than previously believed.

On Tuesday, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez Deremar stressed the necessity of ensuring data accuracy and impartiality, emphasizing that it should be free from political manipulation.

She mentioned that the administration is actively seeking ways to enhance transparency and provide more accurate and timely data for businesses and workers across the nation.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt echoed this sentiment, stating the adjustment highlights the inadequacies of Biden’s economic management and described the BLS as failing to perform its duties effectively.

Leavitt pointed out positive economic signs during Trump’s presidency, noting stable inflation rates, unexpectedly strong domestic production figures (GDP), and increases in industrial output.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) expressed optimism, suggesting that by the time midterm elections arrive, Americans will witness economic growth stems from the recent substantial legislation.

“You’ll begin to notice that new jobs are yielding better pay, and I think you will see economic progress,” Thune stated. “This is a pivotal moment, but I am reflecting on its implications for the future, especially considering the durability of these tax policies beyond just next year.”

The White House maintains that Trump is invigorating the economy by focusing on policies that foster growth.
