Charlie Sheen reveals that a drug cartel stopped working with him during his years of addiction

Charlie Sheen Discusses His Struggles with Addiction

During a recent interview, Charlie Sheen opened up about his long battle with drug addiction. He shared that at one point, he was using so many drugs that he got “cut off” by the cartels he sourced from.

Sheen explained to Jesse Watters on “PrimeTime” that his dealer, Marco Abeyta, was demanding large quantities of drugs from the cartels at a rapid pace, which ultimately led to that supply stopping. He mentioned, “The cartel believes he’s running through it too quickly.”

Moreover, he emphasized that such relationships require permission from those in charge.

Reflecting on His Time with CBS

Sheen also reflected on his experience with CBS during his time on “Two and a Half Men,” recalling how the network sent jets for him in hopes of facilitating his rehabilitation. “I told Les Moonves, ‘I appreciate this. I promise I will shut it down, but it needs to be here,'” he said.

It was also a significant moment for him, as he hadn’t been offered such help in eight years while working on the show.

“There were no big parties to attend anymore. I let people down, including myself. It lost its luster,” Sheen said.

HIV Diagnosis and Recovery

In 2011, following his firing from the show, Ashton Kutcher took over his role. Looking back, Sheen expressed a sense of relief when he was diagnosed with HIV, feeling it marked an end to years of chaotic living.

Now, he claims to have been sober for nearly eight years. “I reached a point where I had to choose sobriety for myself first, and then for my kids and family,” he stated.

He explained how the glitz of his past life faded—“There was nothing left. I lost my seat at the table.”

New Projects

Sheen’s documentary, “Aka Charlie Sheen,” premiered on Netflix, while his memoir, “The Book of Sheen,” was released recently as well.
