Radio show cancellation prank causes 'panic' among staff members

There seems to be quite a bit of turmoil among the staff of Howard Stern’s radio show, reportedly triggered by fears of cancellation.

“People are panicking,” a source shared, highlighting that many employees have families, children, and mortgage obligations. This job, after all, is their main income source.

Rumors suggest that anxiety is building as employees worry they may not have jobs soon—perhaps next week or next month. Interestingly, the thought of layoffs has lingered in their minds for a while now.

It’s evident that the stress levels have risen significantly, leading some staff members to discuss the possibility of leaving.

Compounding their worries is the fact that employees had signed a non-disclosure agreement, which has left them feeling uneasy about discussing workplace issues.

“They could be fired on the spot and lose everything, especially if Stern breaches their non-disclosure agreement,” the source continued, reflecting on how dramatically lives could change from a sudden firing.

Some sources have pointed out that the current situation feels rather unfair to many employees.

Representatives for Stern and SiriusXM have yet to comment on the matter.

Amidst the speculation of resignations, Stern clarified on Monday that he intends to keep his Sirius radio show, though he did so with a bit of playful teasing directed at listeners, aided by reality TV executive Andy Cohen.

Cohen noted, “I think I’m hoping for a big announcement from Howard, but I feel like this shouldn’t be how things unfold.”

Stern expressed some dissatisfaction during this ‘surreal morning,’ lamenting that he hadn’t executed “clean handoffs” and didn’t have “something that has wings.”

Cohen suggested that a new channel named “Andy 100” might not quite fill the void Stern would leave, and he expressed confidence that the 71-year-old would land somewhere else soon.

Fans on the internet have reacted with mixed emotions, voicing their concern and frustration.

Last month, speculations arose about the safety of Stern’s show as his hefty $500 million contract with SiriusXM came to an end.

However, reports indicated that much of the gossip around a possible cancellation was an exaggerated hoax aimed at maintaining Stern’s relevance.

On Monday, he mentioned health issues as the reason for unexpectedly missing his scheduled return from summer break last week.

The Howard Stern Show first premiered in January 2006.
