Henry Cavill has reportedly sustained an injury while preparing for the upcoming “Highlander” remake.
The 42-year-old actor’s injury is serious enough to postpone filming, which is now expected to start in 2026, according to various sources.
Representatives for Cavill have not yet commented on the situation.
Cavill is set to star in the modern take of the 1986 cult classic, which will be produced by Amazon and MGM Studios. The film boasts a notable cast including Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, and Jimon Hounsou.
It tells the story of an immortal Scottish swordsman competing against other immortals for incredible abilities. The project is directed by Chad Stahelski, known for the “John Wick” films.
Cavill expressed his excitement about the role during a Q&A earlier this summer, mentioning that the film consumes his focus and praising Stahelski’s talent.
On a more personal note, Cavill has been private about his life outside of acting. He and his girlfriend, Natalie Vishso, welcomed a baby girl in January. They made their first public appearance as a couple at the premiere of “Enola Holmes 2” in New York City back in October 2022.
Interestingly, comedian Tiffany Haddish once described Cavill as “nasty” after meeting him, admitting that she felt he was more comfortable discussing topics like “Dungeons & Dragons” than typical casual conversation. This candid portrayal seems to contrast with the general public’s perception of him as a charming leading man.
