A Well-Liked Benefit for Disney Visa Cardholders Is Changing at Hollywood Studios

Changes to Disney Visa Card Holder Benefits

Big updates are coming for Disney Visa Card Holders! It seems the benefits associated with this card are about to shift quite a bit.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is getting a significant makeover. The beloved park that many know will soon look quite different. Disney has revealed plans to revamp the animation courtyard area, introducing a new experience, but there’s one particular aspect regarding the back area that hasn’t garnered much attention.

Since its inception, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has undergone a lot of transformations, including a complete renaming at one point. Over the years, the park has ebbed and flowed with the times, but now it’s gearing up for even more extensive changes ahead.

Recently, it was announced that the current animated courtyard area will be transitioned to what’s being called the Walt Disney Studio area. This newly adjusted section is set to feature a playground for younger children, a return of animation classes, and opportunities to meet and greet characters.

However, with these changes, the Star Wars Launch Bay, which has been a staple for several years, will also be closing. This area was known for hosting conventions, character greetings, and providing spaces to capture memorable photos—sometimes with added fun like photo manipulation!

This particular location has been a highlight for Disney Visa cardholders, offering exclusive photo opportunities with popular Star Wars characters. To participate, guests would need to present a valid Disney Visa card at the queue entrance. Unfortunately, this experience will be discontinued in light of the forthcoming closure of the Star Wars Launch Bay, set to take effect on September 25th.

That said, it doesn’t seem like this is the complete end of the road for Disney Visa Card Holder experiences. There are hints that new photography opportunities will be unveiled soon. While details are sparse, Disney is encouraging guests to stay updated via the My Disney Experience app for announcements regarding a replacement experience.

There’s a bit of hope that Disney Visa cardholders will soon have a new way to enjoy these moments, possibly within the revamped park area once it’s finished. I can’t help but wonder what exciting experiences they might roll out next.

It’s certainly an intriguing time at Disney World, and keeping up with the latest developments is definitely worth it!
