Remembering Him: Charlie Kirk Show Airs With His Seat Unoccupied

The Charlie Kirk Show Remembers Its Host

“The Charlie Kirk Show” aired on Friday, bringing together friends and colleagues to honor its late host. Andrew Kolvet, founder of the ATK Company, along with Jack Posobiec, senior editor at Human Events, and others, gathered in the studio to pay tribute. There were empty chairs symbolizing absence, and Kolvet struggled to hold back tears. Yet, Kirk’s voice urged viewers to continue the show, insisting they wanted to celebrate his life.

Kolvet expressed the group’s desire to do this tribute, saying, “We wanted our friends on this show and the crew of Charlie, who knew him best, to be here to commemorate our dear brother, our friend.” He acknowledged the surreal nature of the moment, emphasizing that Kirk would have been upset missing it.

By hosting the show, Kolvet explained that they aimed to embody Kirk’s spirit and share him with the audience. “We all want to honor him together,” he stated, expressing a mutual wish to be inspired by Kirk.

Kirk tragically lost his life on Wednesday due to a gunshot wound. His father discovered the news early Friday morning. Police caught the suspect, Tyler Robinson, soon after. Robinson reportedly confessed to his father that he was responsible for Kirk’s death and was persuaded to turn himself in following a conversation with his dad. Currently, he is in custody, awaiting federal charges.

Utah’s Republican Governor Spencer Cox revealed that Robinson’s father had observed his son becoming increasingly political and harboring feelings of hate in recent years. The night before the incident, Robinson had expressed his disdain for Kirk, referencing a recent visit Kirk made to Utah Valley University.

Additionally, the governor confirmed that police found shell casings marked with anti-fascist messages, including phrases like “Hey fascist! Catch!”

In a significant gesture, President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he would posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom, recognizing his advocacy for freedom and the inspiration he provided to many. Vice President JD Vance facilitated the transport of Kirk’s remains aboard Air Force 2.
