Stephen A. Smith Criticizes Celebrations Over Charlie Kirk’s Death
Stephen A. Smith, a well-known sports commentator, spoke out about the responses from some left-leaning individuals celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
While Kirk’s tragic demise evoked remembrance for many who admired him as a conservative activist, others found it an occasion for ridicule, which Smith found troubling. It raises a concern about how some people, in expressing their inappropriate joy, risk their jobs and reputations.
“I don’t care what his political beliefs are! I don’t care what he felt! What I care about is the fact that a man was shot in front of two children!” Smith expressed emphatically.
He discussed these issues in his show, highlighting the lack of empathy displayed by some who prioritize politics over humanity. “As a Black man born in America, I completely understand the challenges we face. Yet, there are more good people than bad in this country,” he added passionately.
Smith, reflecting on the audience in Las Vegas, noted, “People look at me differently; they show me love.” He emphasized the need for more serious discourse, saying, “We can’t just talk about these issues superficially when such despicable acts take place.”
“I don’t care what his political beliefs are! I don’t care what he felt! A 31-year-old man is dead, leaving his wife a widow and his kids without a father. Yet, I see people celebrating!” he stated, clearly upset.
