Erika Kirk of Turning Point, the cherished spouse of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, shared one of her husband’s favorite scripture passages while speaking to the nation on Friday night.
She said, “Charlie always believed that God’s design for marriage and family is truly remarkable. It was the greatest joy in his life. He often expressed a desire to find a future spouse, to become husband and wife, and to raise children together.”
Erika continued, “He wanted everyone to bring a sense of heaven to this earth through the love and joys of family life. It’s just beautiful.”
“One of Charlie’s preferred biblical verses was Ephesians 5:25. He demonstrated the utmost true covenant love for me, our nation, and our children,” she noted.
Kirk was tragically shot during a lecture at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. The alleged shooter has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, according to reports.
After his passing, Kirk’s pastor and friend Rob McCoy expressed, “His life is secure forever through his Savior Jesus Christ. This truth meant that, without fear of death, Charlie faced any threat with courage.”
Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, who was also a close friend of Kirk, remarked this week, “I’ve been honoring Charlie Kirk, knowing him well over the years. As a faithful Christian witness, I cannot describe how proud I am of his respect for the Lord Jesus Christ in his life.”
He continued, “Charlie was seen as an intellectual giant, a compassionate young man, and devoted to the well-being of our country and our republic. I feel humbled and blessed to have served as a small part of Charlie’s journey, and for him, nothing mattered more than knowing Jesus Christ.”
