Global Vigil Held for Charlie Kirk
A global vigil was organized in the wake of the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. His close friend, Andrew Corvette, who is also the executive producer of the “Charlie Kirk Show” podcast, encouraged people to gather in his memory, believing it was something Kirk would have wanted.
“Charlie wanted to be remembered for his faith and courage,” Corvette shared during an appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures.”
Kirk, who was a co-founder of Turning Point USA, was tragically shot on the University of Utah campus last Wednesday. He leaves behind his wife, Erica, and their two young children.
Much of Kirk’s work focused on promoting a traditional American family structure rooted in Christian values. Corvette urged those mourning to channel their grief into a commitment that mirrored Kirk’s wishes.
“If you want to honor Charlie today, it’s a Sunday… go back to church, open your Bible, pray, and seek God’s guidance. That’s what he wanted,” he advised.
Vigils were held not just locally but across various Turning Point USA chapters, on Capitol Hill, and even internationally. At a planned protest in London, activists displayed photos and banners featuring Kirk.
Turning Point USA plans to hold a public memorial for Kirk next weekend at the Arizona Cardinals stadium, a venue that can accommodate over 70,000 individuals.
Corvette noted that the widespread response to Kirk’s death highlights the impact of his message. “He resonated across the globe, I think, due to his goodness. He approached everything with sincerity and integrity,” he remarked.
Corvette emphasized the peaceful nature of the vigils, which he felt was particularly meaningful for Kirk’s family and friends. “Those who loved him are not rioting or causing chaos; instead, they are praying, lighting candles, and expressing their sadness in a respectful manner,” he explained.
