A teacher in the Toronto region of Ontario, Canada, faces accusations of showing students a video of the violent assassination of Charlie Kirk, a 10-year-old founder of Turning Point USA.
Officials from the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) have initiated an investigation following reports of incidents at Corvette Junior Public School. The allegations surfaced on Friday, according to Toronto Sun.
It is claimed that the teacher presented video footage of Kirk’s assassination to fifth and sixth graders.
In a letter addressed to parents, Principal Jennifer Cottie stated that “students were allegedly shown some violent videos in response to inquiries about recent tragic events in the United States.” The video was reportedly shown by staff members responsible for the class, rather than the homeroom teachers.
Cottie also noted that teachers are relieved of their educational duties pending the outcome of the investigation at the school.
This news arises as teachers across the U.S. expressed congratulatory sentiments regarding Kirk’s assassination, prompting investigations and resulting in disruptions in several states, as reported by Breitbart News.
Tyler Robinson, who is considered a suspect in Kirk’s assassination, was later described by a high school friend as having “a lot left to everything.”
Recently, a report indicated that multiple students from the class reportedly returned home upset about their experience and informed their parents about the disturbing videos. Following their complaints, parents reached out to school authorities.
The report mentioned that while showing the video repeatedly, the teacher lectured the students on anti-fascism and anti-trance, suggesting that Kirk deserved his fate.
