Who will receive Social Security payments this week?

When will Social Security payments be sent?

Social Security benefits, primarily aimed at older or retired individuals, are generally disbursed on Wednesdays.

If a recipient’s birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of the month, they’ll receive their payment on the second Wednesday of that month. Those born between the 11th and 20th will see their payments on the third Wednesday, while recipients born after the 20th will get theirs on the fourth Wednesday. For recipients who have been receiving Social Security since before May 1997, payments are usually dispatched on the third day of the month, unless holidays or weekends affect the schedule.

For individuals who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security payments will arrive on the third of the month, while SSI payments are made on the first.
