Surge in Interest for Turning Point USA after Charlie Kirk’s Death
Turning Point USA (TPUSA) is witnessing a significant increase in inquiries about starting new campus branches following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk last week.
According to Andrew Corvette, executive producer of “Charlie Kirkshaw,” TPUSA has received over 37,000 requests from individuals looking to establish new chapters at universities. Currently, the organization has about 900 college chapters and around 1,200 high school chapters.
Corvette, also a spokesperson for TPUSA, mentioned that there’s been a noticeable rise in recruitment applications. “I’ve personally received hundreds of offers. I’m just here to help out, whether I work for us or volunteer,” he shared.
Reviving Kirk’s Vision
Corvette remarked on social media that Kirk’s hopes for a Club America branch in every high school—approximately 23,000 in total—are likely to be realized much sooner than anticipated. He emphasized the need to expand Kirk’s mission.
Sadly, Kirk was killed during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University, which was the kickoff for a series called the “American Comeback Tour.” Known for his charisma, the 31-year-old Kirk had gained prominence in political discussions on university campuses.
Honoring Kirk’s Legacy
On Thursday evening, a heartfelt video showed Kirk’s family being escorted back to their Arizona home. His wife, Erica Kirk, was visibly emotional as the casket passed before her. The couple had two young children.
A celebration of Kirk’s life is scheduled for next Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. President Donald Trump announced his intention to attend the funeral.
In a powerful statement, Kirk’s widow expressed her commitment to carrying on her husband’s mission and vowed that the TPUSA movement will endure. “I refuse to let it die. No one will forget my husband’s name—it will grow stronger and bolder,” she declared.
Erica also confirmed that TPUSA’s annual “America Fest” conference in Phoenix this December will proceed as planned.
A Wake-Up Call for Activism
Judas Waxelbaum, a former campus activist, remarked that Kirk’s assassination might serve as a catalyst for increased engagement within the Republican cause, potentially awakening a “sleeping giant” in terms of membership.
“The movement isn’t going anywhere,” he stated confidently. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it leads to a surge in involvement.”
