During the 2025 Emmy Awards, Reba McEntire publicly confirmed her engagement to Rex Linn, a friend she has known for nearly three decades. This news broke during a red carpet interview, where reporter Zuri Hall referred to Linn as McEntire’s “fiancé” at the event held outside the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

A source close to the couple shared that the engagement happened a few months back and that they are thrilled together. McEntire, 70, and Linn, 68, have been dating for five years. Their friendship first blossomed in the 1990s, but it turned romantic in 2020, following the passing of McEntire’s mother. The couple found strength in each other during the quarantine period, which significantly deepened their relationship.

In a statement from October 2021, McEntire reflected on how Linn reached out when her mother fell ill, leading to more frequent conversations. “We’ve been in ‘Young Sheldon’ before, so we kept talking and visiting, and eventually, we got together in June,” she recounted, adding that they have barely been apart since.
