Texas Tech Student Faces Charges for Battery After Video Appears to Show Her Harassing Mourners of Charlie Kirk

A Texas Tech student was arrested on Friday, according to police reports.

Camryn Giselle Booker, 18, faces charges of battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, as noted by the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office. There were also allegations of her having attacked someone. She has since been released on a $200 bond.

In a video circulating online, Booker can be heard yelling remarks like, “f*ck y’all, dead, he was shot in the head.” A man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat called her actions “evil” and questioned the reason behind her display of hate.

Following the incident, a Twitter post described her as someone who danced near Charlie Kirk’s grave and claimed she was expelled from Texas Tech. Her comment, “f-ck y’all, yo homie d*ad,” was noted in the update.

The same man in the video accused Booker of being “aggressive” and suggested that she felt attacked because she was a Black woman.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott reacted to the incident by sharing a photo of Booker in custody on his account, emphasizing that she laughed at the assassination of Charlie Kirk at Texas Tech.

Booker’s mugshot was shared on the Lubbock County Mugshot Facebook page.

Charlie Kirk was tragically shot while speaking at Utah Valley University; he was just 31 years old. Authorities have charged a 22-year-old resident, Tyler Robinson, with the shooting. Robinson hasn’t been cooperating with investigators, as noted by Republican Utah Gov. Spencer Cox. It was also mentioned that Robinson is in a relationship with a transgender woman, who is reportedly cooperating with law enforcement.

The Texas Tech police were contacted for comments, but there hasn’t been a response. The university was also asked about the rumors of Booker’s expulsion, but that has yet to be confirmed.
