People Everywhere Express Their Affection for Charlie Kirk

Following the murder of Charlie Kirk, a notable advocate for free speech and co-founder of Turning Point USA, people around the globe have expressed their sorrow and solidarity. His ideas resonated far beyond the United States, demonstrating how good people can unite in grief for a young husband and father.

In Madrid, a vigil for Kirk began just hours after his death and grew throughout Thursday.

On Thursday, the conservative Vox party in Spain, gaining popularity among the youth, held vigils and events featuring speakers from both Europe and America, including Kevin Roberts, president of the Heritage Foundation. He referred to Kirk as “the brightest young leader of America.”

Conservative youth leaders in Korea have erected two monuments in Kirk’s honor. One is a statue of General Douglas MacArthur in Incheon, while the other stands in front of Sanjunimun Gate in Seoul.

Kirk visited Korea and Japan the week prior to his assassination, discussing his experience at the Build Up Corea 2025 forum.

A large gathering in London commemorated Kirk, organized by activist Tommy Robinson along with the British chapter of Kirk’s Turning Point organization. Robinson claimed more than a million turned out, whereas Metropolitan Police estimated about 110,000 attendees, with major media noting “hundreds.”

In Sydney, another gathering was organized by Turning Point.

On Sunday night, a vigil in Brisbane attracted around 800 people. This event, held at the University of Queensland’s Great Court, followed a similar rally in Sydney. Although not officially approved by the university, it was organized by students with security in place for safety.

Australian Director of Turning Point, Joel Jamal, remarked that plans were in the works for Kirk’s visit to Australia before his tragic death. He emphasized Kirk’s commendable Christian values and his inspirational role.

Members of the rising Alternative for Germany (AfD) party attended a vigil in Berlin outside the U.S. embassy, emphasizing themes of “liberty, patriotism, and justice.” MP Beatrix von Storch was among those present, voicing support for Kirk.

A joint vigil took place in Vienna for Kirk and a stabbing victim. The organizer expressed concerns about attacks on the commemorative site, stating that the U.S. embassy was targeted during the event, leading to scenes of damage without any official intervention.

An unexpectedly large crowd gathered outside the U.S. embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, for a voluntary vigil. Attendees left flowers, candles, and handwritten notes, indicating a spontaneous outpouring of grief.

However, international media seemed slow to cover these events. While some outlets provided less than accurate crowd estimates, they appeared to avoid wide-angle shots that truly captured the gathering’s scale.

Tommy Robinson criticized certain British media for underestimating the crowd size at the London event.
