Former NFL player discusses AI-driven innovation for MMA promotion

Shaun Merriman to Unveil Innovations in Xtreme Fighting

Former NFL player Shaun Merriman is stepping into the realm of martial arts with exciting developments in Light Out Xtreme Fighting. This Saturday, he plans to reveal “game changers” that aim to differentiate his organization from others in the industry.

Merriman mentioned that viewers of Xtreme Fighting 27, set to air on Lightout Sports TV, can expect a fresh approach to advertisements during the broadcasts. He explained, “We are the first commercial use of AI virtual sponsorship. People watching at home will see ads change throughout the fights. This has been in the works for quite a while—we’ve been busy for about six months behind the scenes.”

With this new initiative, Merriman added that businesses can sponsor fights quickly and at reduced costs, which is a significant shift in the promotional landscape. “They can buy time for ads in just one minute, which, we think, is groundbreaking,” he said.

Merriman also indicated a partnership with PTF Lab to introduce innovative advertising ideas into the combat sports scene.

“There are many local promotions struggling at the moment. We’ve found ways to generate extra revenue without the need for significant capital,” he noted. He believes their strategy has proven quite effective. “We’re a lean operation but have a fantastic team that’s always looking for creative growth opportunities.”

Xtreme Fighting 27 will take place at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California, kicking off at 5 p.m. local time. The card features a main event match between Tyrell Fortune and Demoleo Dennis, along with three other notable bouts.
