Sean McVay’s Injury During Rams Victory
Sean McVay, the youngest coach ever to clinch a Super Bowl, isn’t as spry as he once was.
During the Rams’ recent win over the Titans, where they triumphed 33-19, McVay revealed that he tore his plantar fascia—the tough tissue that bridges the heels and the feet.
On “The Coach McVay Show” Monday night, he shared, “My legs are fine. I did tear my plantar fascia, which is good in its own way, I guess. It means the healing should be quicker. But, yeah, I kind of overacted and limped a bit towards the end there. The MRI confirmed it.”
He added, “At least I’m not playing. I’m mostly just watching the game unfold, but if I look like I’m stealing the show, well, now you know why.”
Although McVay couldn’t pinpoint the exact moment he got injured, he did notice the limping as he approached the sidelines late in the game.
I mean, he’s led the Rams to victory in 2022, but still. What does this mean for the future?
McVay, who once played wide receiver at Miami (Ohio), has built quite the reputation for his energetic coaching style.
As for whether he’ll need supportive footwear during his recovery, that remains uncertain.
So far, the Rams are 2-0 this season. But it’s going to be a tough test as they prepare to play the reigning Super Bowl Champion Eagles next.
