Sinclair Issues Demands Following Kimmel’s Show Suspension

Sinclair, a prominent media company and the largest ABC affiliate group, has laid out a series of demands following the return of Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show.

They stated, “Sinclair won’t lift the suspension of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ until there is an official discussion with ABC about the network’s commitment to professionalism and accountability at our station.” A press release detailing their stance is expected to be read soon.

Additionally, Sinclair has called for Kimmel to “directly apologize” to the family of Charlie Kirk, who was tragically killed.

They further requested that Kimmel make substantial personal donations to both the Kirk family and Turning Point USA.

Jimmy Kimmel’s representatives have been reached for comment, yet there has been no immediate response.

In the meantime, a source indicated that Kimmel remarked, “I don’t want to apologize for what he said.”

Reports suggest that Kimmel, aged 57, was informed over the phone that his 22-year tenure at ABC would be temporarily paused.

On the same day, Sinclair’s Vice President Jason Smith criticized Kimmel for being “inappropriate and deeply insensitive” in light of recent events.

Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist, was fatally shot on September 10th, prompting controversy surrounding Kimmel’s remarks related to the incident.

Federal Communications Commissioner Brendan Kerr discussed the matter on a podcast, noting that Kimmel’s actions appeared quite severe. He mentioned that while there are guidelines at the FCC, this situation might not be isolated.

Sinclair revealed plans to indefinitely suspend ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, prompting ABC to halt the show’s production.

Sources indicated Kimmel was “absolutely rushing” to navigate this situation and possibly exit his contract with ABC.

The controversial statement by Kimmel occurred during his show’s Monday airing, where he remarked, “We hit a new low over the weekend to try and characterize this child that the Magagangs killed Charlie Kirk as something other than one of them.”

Kimmel also alluded to President Trump’s supporters in a segment following the tragedy, raising questions about their motivations and actions.

Despite the situation, Kimmel expressed a rather chaotic view on social media about the incident, which left many baffled.

In response to the suspension of Kimmel’s show, Trump took to social media to vocally critique the situation, arguing that Kimmel lacks talent and expressing pride in ABC’s decision.
