Piers Morgan Responds to Don Lemon’s CNN Firing
Piers Morgan expressed strong opinions about Don Lemon’s firing from CNN, calling him “a complete D-K” during a heated television exchange. The discussion pivoted to Lemon’s abrupt dismissal from the network in 2023, particularly after Morgan showcased a clip highlighting Lemon’s sour demeanor and remarks made by then-presidential candidate Nikki Haley regarding her “prime.”
Lemon shifted the focus, saying he originally went on the show to talk about freedom of speech issues surrounding controversial topics, such as the assassination of Charlie Kirk. This wasn’t the direction Morgan expected, as he pressed Lemon on the implications of his departure.
“Let’s clarify what happened,” Morgan insisted, diving into the issue of cancel culture. “Did you feel like your exit from CNN was an example of that?” He then noted that Lemon had answered the question.
As tensions escalated, Morgan raised his voice, stating, “What are you talking about?! I think you’re a complete D-K.” Lemon shot back with sarcasm, remarking on Morgan’s lack of respect.
Lemon accused Morgan of lacking journalistic integrity, to which Morgan countered, saying he wasn’t going to take advice on being a respectable journalist from Lemon. Morgan seemed puzzled by Lemon’s defensive outburst, asking, “Why did you have this strange reaction?”
Lemon, defending himself, insisted that a clip from 2023 had “nothing to do with me leaving CNN,” asking for context regarding his statements. This public confrontation followed a recent incident where Lemon faced backlash from a bystander who criticized him on the streets of New York City.
The man, who confronted Lemon during a podcast segment, abruptly called him an “idiot,” suggesting that CNN and MSNBC were misleading viewers about significant issues like Gaza. When Lemon questioned the man’s approach, he shrugged, explaining it was just his immediate reaction to Lemon’s public persona.
