Vigil for Charlie Kirk in Boston
Two anti-fascist protesters were taken into custody Thursday night during an overnight vigil honoring the slain conservative activist, Charlie Kirk.
Attendees gathered at Boston Common to light candles in remembrance of Kirk, who was shot and killed on the University of Utah campus the previous week.
A group of protesters was kept separated from the vigil by a barricade, with police present both on the ground and on the statehouse roof.
This week, President Donald Trump announced plans to label the radical left-wing group Antifa as a “terrorist organization.”

Joseph Antoan Castro del Rio, 38, was arrested for disorderly conduct. A minor was also apprehended for assault and battery, reportedly carrying a knife at the time, leading to additional charges for possession of a dangerous weapon.
According to police reports, Del Rio disrupted the vigil by using an amplification device inappropriately, repeatedly screaming and violating city ordinances.
When officers approached, he reportedly directed insults at the vigil-goers, calling them names like “Nazis” and “fascists.” Despite orders to cease and desist, he continued his behavior and was subsequently arrested.
The minor was observed screaming obscenities at the crowd and was removed from the area. While leaving, he allegedly struck a man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
During a search, authorities discovered a hunting knife in connection with the minor.
