Jadeveon Clowney Arrested in South Carolina
NFL veteran Jadeveon Clowney was taken into custody on September 12th in Rock Hill, South Carolina, just two days prior to his signing with the Dallas Cowboys.
The 32-year-old Clowney faces charges of trespassing and failing to identify himself to authorities. Reports indicate that he had attempted to park in areas where parking was prohibited and continued to do so even after being informed. It seems like a bit of a mix-up, really.
Interestingly, Clowney secured a contract with the Cowboys just two days after his arrest, a signing that was announced by owner Jerry Jones following the team’s thrilling overtime win against the New York Giants in Week 2.
Clowney had spent the previous season with the Carolina Panthers, where he played in 14 games, starting all of them, and recorded 5.5 sacks along with 46 tackles.
In March 2024, the Panthers had signed him to a two-year, $20 million deal, but surprisingly released him just a year later, in May 2025.
As the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Clowney is gearing up for his 12th season in the league. The Cowboys mark the seventh different team he is joining, which is pretty noteworthy.
In his impressive career covering 140 games, he has amassed 409 total tackles, 58 sacks, one interception, nine fumble recoveries—including three touchdowns—and 108 tackles for loss. It’s quite a record.
The Cowboys currently hold a record of 1-1 and are set to face the Chicago Bears, who are sitting at 0-2, on Sunday at 4:25 PM.
