Eagles Stage Remarkable Comeback Against Rams
Boo Birds were present in the Lincoln financial sector as the Philadelphia Eagles walked off the field during halftime on Sunday, trailing the Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles had a dismal first half, recording only -1 passing yards and a meager total of 34 yards, as they faced a 19-7 deficit. The discontent among fans escalated early in the third quarter when Kylen Williams scored on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford, extending the Rams’ lead to 26-7.
When the clock hit zero, those Boo Birds were still quite vocal.
Yet, the Eagles roared back following Williams’ touchdown, stunning the Rams with an impressive 26 unanswered points. This remarkable turnaround gave Philadelphia fans plenty to cheer about.
But to pull off this comeback, the Eagles needed some extraordinary plays from their hefty defensive tackles, Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis.
The Rams had a chance to widen their lead when Joshua Curty attempted a short 36-yard field goal, but trailing 26-21 after the Eagles’ defense stopped them on a crucial fourth down early in the fourth quarter proved critical.
Carter’s dramatic block kept the score at 26-21 and allowed the Eagles to take over on offense. They seized the opportunity, orchestrating a 17-play, 91-yard drive—although Carter was flagged for taunting Devonta Smith, which temporarily pushed the Eagles back. Nevertheless, he later connected with Smith again for a touchdown, giving the Eagles a narrow 27-26 lead with just two minutes remaining.
That left just enough time for Stafford to push the Rams back into field goal range. Thanks to an impressive kickoff return by Blake Colm, Los Angeles advanced quickly past midfield, with Stafford linking up with Puka Nacua and a run from Williams, moving to the Eagles’ 26-yard line.
This set Karty up for a potential game-winning 44-yard field goal attempt.
This time, it was Davis who stepped up, expertly blocking the kick and showcasing his skills.
Not only did Davis stop the field goal, but he also scooped up the loose ball and scored a touchdown. Throughout the game, he had chased Stafford, but on this particular play, he really showcased his speed and agility.
And in doing so, he gave those Boo Birds plenty to cheer for.
