Daniel Jones Leads Colts to Victory, Maintaining Perfect Season Start
Daniel Jones might as well be dubbed Indiana Jones after guiding the Colts to a decisive 41-20 win over the Titans, marking an impressive 3-0 start this season.
Continuing his strong performance on Sunday, Jones completed 18 of 25 passes for a total of 228 yards and, importantly, no interceptions. He connected with Michael Pittman Jr. for a touchdown in the third quarter, a 20-yard completion that added to his stellar game. Remarkably, he averaged 9.1 yards per attempt during this matchup, reminiscent of his impressive beginnings back in 2009 when Peyton Manning took center stage.
This game saw Jones exceed 220 passing yards for the third consecutive week, solidifying his consistency. Yet, it’s noteworthy that he has still not thrown an interception this season.
For Jones, these victories match the total he achieved in his final 16 starts with the Giants over the previous two seasons.
Saquon Barkley, another former Giant, was likely not surprised by Jones’ success. He expressed his support for Jones earlier this week, emphasizing his confidence in him.
Barkley enthusiastically remarked, “Daniel Jones! Let’s go! That’s my Dawg!” and shared that he needs to FaceTime him more often. He mentioned how exciting it is to witness Jones’s journey, particularly during training camp where he fought for his position.
After being released by the Giants last November, Jones signed on with the Colts under a one-year deal, seeking to revitalize his career after several tumultuous seasons.
As the Colts prepare for their next challenge against the Rams, the momentum seems to be on their side.
