Scott Jennings Responds to Jasmine Crockett's Anti-Charlie Kirk Comments with Three Words

Political Commentary on Texas Representative’s Remarks

Scott Jennings, a senior political commentator for CNN, criticized Representative Jasmine Crockett during a discussion on Sunday, following her remarks about Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA. During her appearance on “Union Status,” Crockett expressed her opposition to a resolution condemning the murder of Kirk, arguing that “two white men” had grouped against her, labeling Kirk’s rhetoric as “harmful” and “Confederate.”

Kirk was murdered in Utah on September 10, with authorities investigating motives linked to claims that he was engaging in harmful actions. When host Dana Bash questioned Crockett about her previous comments, she went on to criticize both Kirk and former President Donald Trump, even making comparisons to Hitler. In response, Jennings simply stated, “Well, she’s lying.”

“Charlie Kirk targeted no one. He was not a racist. I’ve spent hours listening to him speak and I’ve attended events with him,” Jennings recounted. “To say he was continuously targeting people of color is nothing but a malicious smear, especially on a day dedicated to remembering him.”

Jennings continued, suggesting that major Democratic figures, including Ilhan Omar and Crockett, tarnished Kirk’s reputation just before his funeral. He expressed disbelief at their calls for unity and calmer rhetoric.

In a related political move, four Republicans cooperated with Democrats to defeat a resolution that would denounce Omar for her comments on a September 11 appearance. She had stated that those supporting Kirk’s views on campus were “full of shit.”

Crockett is known for her controversial statements, such as recently likening U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to “slave patrols,” and she previously linked Trump supporters to mental illness during her September 12 appearance on “Breakfast Club.”
