Erica Kirk Honors Late Husband at Service
During a service ceremony on Sunday, Erica Kirk paid tribute to her late husband, Charlie Kirk, emphasizing her commitment to his mission. She called for Americans to choose love over hate, inspired by her faith. Notably, she expressed forgiveness towards the individual who took Charlie’s life during a speaking event on September 10th.
“I forgive that young man. That’s what Christ would do, as Charlie would. The solution to hatred is love, always love,” she stated.
Erica and President Trump were the final speakers at the service held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Charlie Kirk, recognized as the founder of Turning Point USA, was remembered for his deep faith and desire to uplift America.
“Charlie’s message is very much alive,” Trump remarked.
As the new CEO of Turning Point USA, Erica pledged the organization would not just survive but grow in the coming years.
“The world needs Turning Point USA,” she asserted. “We must guide young people away from despair and towards truth and beauty.”
The service featured gospel music from artists such as Brandon Lake and Chris Tomlin. Erica expressed her gratitude that through Charlie’s death, many people found Christ and renewed their faith.
“Over the last ten days, I’ve seen God’s mercy. Following Charlie’s tragic death, there was no violence. Instead, we witnessed a revival, with many picking up the Bible for the first time in a decade,” she shared.
She encouraged attendees to pray, read scripture, and engage with their local churches.
“I feel freed from the temptations of this world,” she said.
While acknowledging the challenges of faith, Erica reiterated, “Following Christ isn’t easy.”
“Jesus said, ‘If anyone wishes to follow me, let them deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow me.’ Persecution is part of the journey,” she articulated.
Erica spoke of Charlie’s passion for reviving the American family through Turning Point USA.
“He always aimed to tell young people about God’s vision for marriage, which can enrich their lives,” she noted.
She presented a challenge to both men and women in the audience.
“Men, embrace true masculinity. Love and protect your families. Be the spiritual leaders in your homes, understanding that your wives are partners, not subordinates,” she encouraged.
Turning to the women, she added:
“Women, we must recognize our importance. Our influence stems from God’s design for our roles as nurturers and guardians. Everything starts from our hearts, and for mothers, nurturing is vital,” she urged.
Reflecting on their partnership, Erica remarked, “We worked as a team towards the same mission. We recognized the struggles young people faced, needing new direction.”
“Charlie sought to reach those lost young men feeling adrift in life, wanting to help them find purpose,” she mentioned. “He wanted to guide them toward a brighter future through Turning Point USA.”
Erica also reinforced the organization’s commitment to continuing its events on college campuses, advocating for First Amendment rights and encouraging open dialogue among students.
“The First Amendment is our fundamental right, protecting our ability to communicate. Violence arises when conversations cease,” she reflected.
In closing, Erica highlighted her husband’s profound faith and his love for family.
“Choose prayer, choose courage, choose beauty, adventure, and family. Above all, choose Christ,” she concluded.
