Pickens’ Frustration After Costly Error in Bears’ Win
George Pickens expressed his disappointment following a crucial mistake that contributed to the Bears’ victory on Sunday.
The Cowboys wide receiver found himself open, but quarterback Dak Prescott’s pass was intercepted by Chicago’s Tremaine Edmunds, sealing the 31-14 win for the Bears at Soldier Field.
When Pickens returned to the sidelines, cameras caught him slamming his helmet into the ground, prompting teammates to step in and calm him down.
This marked the Cowboys’ second loss in just three games this season, though Pickens had a decent performance. Unfortunately, he had a few missed catches that led to the pivotal interception in the fourth quarter.
In the game, Pickens recorded five catches and a touchdown, totaling 68 yards. This performance was especially significant after the team lost Cedee Lamb to an injury early in the first quarter.
During the broadcast, he was seen with a towel over his head, clearly upset with the outcome of the game.
Pickens joined Dallas in May after being traded from the Steelers, where he spent the first three years of his career.
Known for his ups and downs throughout his time in Pittsburgh, his reaction on Sunday showcased how emotions can take over in high-pressure moments.
The Cowboys brought in Pickens to enhance their offense, and he had posted over 900 yards in the last two seasons.
Despite the loss, Pickens managed eight catches for 98 yards along with a touchdown against the Bears, leaving the Cowboys at 1-2 after the first three weeks of the season.
