A California electrician’s girlfriend has faced backlash after a negative TikTok video regarding Charlie Kirk.
Megan Farina, 31, from San Diego, returned to TikTok on Friday.
“We’ve lost our sense of privacy because we expressed that Charlie Kirk, who doesn’t seem to practice empathy, didn’t have any for me,” Farina stated.
Watch – Crowds gather long before the Charlie Kirk Memorial starts:
“Get your facts straight,” one TikTok user commented, among nearly 400 responses from left-leaning influencers.
Indeed, Kirk has previously claimed that he didn’t take the term “empathy” seriously, labeling it a “new age term” used in politics to create “moral superiority,” preferring “compassion” or “sympathy” instead.
This latest post follows a TikTok video by Farina on September 10, shortly after a shooting in Utah. She claimed it galvanized platforms to spread racism and bigotry.
Instead, she expressed she would offer Kirk merely “thoughts and prayers.”
This commentary to her 600,000 followers led to a wave of negative feedback.
Critics quickly connected Farina to her boyfriend, Justin Clinley, 34, who owns a small electrical business in Southern California. Farina is part of a team of contractors.
Consequently, Evolution Electrical received a flood of poor Yelp reviews, cautioning potential clients against hiring the Oceanside firm.
Breitbart News reported that the backlash halted contractor reviews, and the company’s website was taken offline.
The situation caused a case of mistaken identity, impacting a nearby company, Evolutionary Electricity and the Sun, which faced backlash as well. Recent complaints were noted by an NBC affiliate.
Owner Jason Lucero revealed he had to silence his phone due to the overwhelming calls and fears for the survival of his business.
“I was getting up to four calls a minute,” Lucero remarked. “Then everything just stopped.”
Farina’s new post claims both she and her boyfriend have become targets of the MAGA movement.
“First, my address got leaked, and soon after, more personal details about my family were exposed,” Farina stated.
“My boyfriend’s business has been defamed,” she added. She insisted, as noted in a previous report, that her boyfriend’s company is not connected to her opinions or social media activity.
“Thousands began to flood phones with negative reviews,” she continued. “Someone even came into his office and verbally assaulted him. The lives of my family and my children have been threatened countless times.”
See – Disturbing! Who will protest the monument? :
Farina alleged that her home was threatened with “spraying” bullets, while others expressed their wishes for her to be assaulted or killed. According to her, the “MAGA Protestors” followed her neighbors and left a note outside her house.
She expressed that she isn’t the only content creator targeted online following Kirk’s assassination.
“If not hundreds, then definitely many other creators on this platform have lost their jobs, and it has genuinely frightened me,” she remarked.
She stated, “These individuals want free speech only when it aligns with their narrative.”
Farina promoted the anti-MAGA “No Kings” rally planned for October 18, urging others who felt threatened to reach out to her.
In conclusion, she urged Californians to vote in a controversial measure pushed by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), aiming to secure more Democratic seats in the legislature.
