Shooting at New Hampshire Wedding Leaves One Dead

A tragic incident occurred at a wedding held at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, on Saturday night, claiming the life of 59-year-old Robert “Rob” Stephen Decesare. This celebration took a horrifying turn when, according to authorities, 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau, a former employee of the club, opened fire, resulting in Decesare’s death and injuring two other guests.

The response time was swift, with police apprehending Nadeau shortly after the shooting. He now faces a charge of second-degree murder. New Hampshire Attorney General John Formela indicated that the chaos unfolded almost immediately, noting that the shooting lasted less than a minute.

Tom Bartelson, who attended the wedding, recounted the panic that ensued. “When the bride and groom started to dance, that’s when all the chaos erupted,” he said. “It was terrifying; we heard six shots and just dove for cover.” The atmosphere shifted dramatically, as people scrambled for safety.

Witnesses reported that, during the incident, Nadeau shouted phrases like “Free Palestine.” However, Attorney General Formela stated that while various statements were made, there’s currently no evidence that suggests Nadeau was driven by hate. “It seems he was just trying to create chaos,” Formela explained during a press update.

Charlene, Decesare’s wife, expressed her heartbreak in the wake of this violence. She described him as a devoted father and friend, deeply cherished by his family and friends. They had recently moved to Nashua, and he was looking forward to celebrating milestone events in the near future. “He was supposed to walk our daughter down the aisle this fall, but that dream is now shattered. Our plans for his 60th birthday and our 27th anniversary will never happen,” she lamented.

She was grateful for the community’s support during this difficult time, thanking those who have responded with kindness. However, she urged the public to refrain from spreading speculation regarding the shooting, emphasizing how that complicates matters for the authorities involved in the investigation.

Further complicating the situation, it was reported that the shooting also left another guest and a club employee injured, with additional charges likely for those injured. Nadeau’s court appearance is scheduled for September 22nd.

As investigators continue to look into the shooting, individuals who have information are encouraged to reach out to the Nashua Police Department. The community is left reeling as they grapple with the aftermath of this senseless act of violence.
