Former Biden Spokesman Critiques White House Dynamics
WASHINGTON – A former spokesperson for Jill Biden has shared insights on the internal dynamics of the White House, describing it as a “cult” that operated under the influence of an “average girl.”
Michael Larosa, who previously represented Jill Biden, expressed strong opinions in a recent piece for Fox News, offering a glimpse into the forthcoming book by former Vice President Kamala Harris, which is set to be released on Tuesday.
In an excerpt, he notes that insider whispers have long described the Biden administration’s environment as filled with bullies. He likens the atmosphere to that of Regina George from “Mean Girls,” suggesting that loyalty was prioritized over genuine service to the president and first lady.
“Staff were not there to serve Biden or Jill Biden; they were serving the cult,” Larosa explained. “It was often unclear who was truly in charge—Biden or the mean girl persona.” He added that while Joe and Jill are warm and sympathetic, they have also enabled some challenging personalities in politics, leading to a notable contradiction in their leadership.
Larosa remarked that Biden’s stated mission was to combat Trump’s perceived bullying, but he points out that bullying behavior can also exist within Democratic circles, highlighting a certain irony.
Although he refrained from naming names in his critical commentary, Larosa recalled that Biden promised to fire staff members who treated their colleagues poorly, emphasizing a stark contrast to the previous administration.
Critics, including Larosa, suggest that Biden has failed to uphold those standards as he once vowed. Having worked on Biden’s 2020 campaign and serving as Jill’s spokesperson until mid-2022, Larosa had a front-row seat to the unfolding drama.
During his tenure, he noted that Anthony Bernal, the First Lady’s Chief of Staff, was often perceived as a powerful figure but also faced accusations of fostering a bullying environment.
Harris’s upcoming memoir, titled “107 Days,” is expected to shed light on her experiences with a staff often characterized by negativity and high turnover. She reflects on how critics attempted to frame her success as a threat to Biden, asserting that both could succeed together.
Following the release of excerpts from Harris’s book, some former aides criticized her performance, further complicating the narrative surrounding her time in office. Larosa observed that Harris is now acknowledging the challenges he saw during their shared experiences.
Furthermore, there were discussions about a phone call Biden allegedly made to Harris regarding a meeting with Trump, which raised concerns about his loyalty. In reflecting on her experiences, Harris emphasized her commitment to serve, even amidst uncertainty.
Larosa concluded with a message of support for Harris, hoping she continues to share her experiences candidly. “She’ll sleep well at night,” he said, indicating a belief in her resilience.
