Eli Manning and Daniel Jones Share a Light-hearted Moment

Eli Manning might be a Super Bowl champion, but Daniel Jones has some playful jabs at him. During an appearance on “Manning Cast” on ESPN2, Colts quarterback Jones joined Payton and Eli Manning to discuss a recent game between the Lions and Ravens. Payton even brought up some amusing footage of Eli and Jones playing flip cup at Hobo Kenbar.

In a fun spin, Payton prompted Jones to call Eli out for allegedly “cheating” at flip cup. “He’s 1,000% cheating,” Jones joked. He mentioned how he had asked Payton for advice for his time in Indianapolis and joked that Eli had been dishonest in their games. “I was trying to figure out why I was losing. I’ve graduated from college,” he added, referring to their competitive spirit.

Eli couldn’t help but chuckle at the accusation, saying he had to resort to “cheating” to win at flip cup. “I was undefeated. I never lost,” Eli exclaimed, a big grin on his face.

This playful exchange dates back to December when the footage was recorded at Hobo Kenbar, as part of a night out following the Giants’ back-to-back victories. At that point, Eli was 38 while Jones, only 22, was navigating his rookie season.

On social media, memories of that night were shared, capturing Jones dancing as napkins were tossed in the air amidst the celebration.

Fast forward to now, and a lot has changed. Jones is leading the Colts to their first 3-0 start since 2009. In a recent segment, Eli couldn’t help but remark, “DJ, your colt is 3-0 and leads the NFL in scoring.” He asked if Jones agreed that he might already be the biggest quarterback in Colts history.

While Payton and Eli shared a laugh, Jones seemed a bit hesitant to take that title just yet. “I don’t know if I can go that far yet,” he replied, “But that was a good start for us.”
