‘They Don’t Want Her’: Harry Enten Indicates Kamala Harris Has Grown Even Less Favorable Among Democrats

CNN Analyst Comments on Kamala Harris’s Popularity

CNN’s chief data analyst, Harry Enten, mentioned on Monday that former Vice President Kamala Harris has seen a decline in favor among Democrats following her loss in the 2024 presidential election.

According to Enten, her approval rating dropped from -5 points in October 2024 to -13 points currently across the nation. Her standing with independent voters is even more concerning, where she is reportedly down 37 points, which really limits her prospects for any future elections.

“Since the general election, she hasn’t gained much support. Americans just aren’t keen on her,” Enten noted. “And if she’s struggling with independents, that shows a real disconnect. Central voters are crucial, and right now, she’s, well, it’s not looking good for her.”

As per a Yahoo News/YouGov survey, Democratic voters seem to favor Gavin Newsom over Harris as a potential candidate for 2028. Back in April, 28% of Democrats supported Harris versus 8% for Newsom. However, recent polls indicate a shift, with Newsom now at 21% and Harris trailing at 19% as of September 2025.

“It’s pretty clear that Newsom is resonating more with Democrat voters while Harris is not,” Enten added.

In her home state of California, Harris has also lost traction. Enten reported that 42% of Californians are interested in other candidates for the 2028 presidential election, a notable decline from 58% support she garnered in 2024.

Harris did not win any swing states in the last election, marking a rare loss for a Democratic candidate in two decades. Earlier this week, she released her memoir, “107 Days,” detailing her presidential campaign against President Donald Trump after Joe Biden exited the race.

In her book, Harris expressed feelings of being overlooked and undervalued by the Biden administration, saying that they did not highlight her achievements or shield her from “false attacks.” She also mentioned that former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was her top choice for running mate but felt he was never considered seriously due to his sexual orientation.

During her tenure as Vice President, Harris’s approval rating dropped to a record low in 2023, as indicated by various opinion polls.
