Maximizing Value in Broadcasting
As a broadcaster, my goal is for everyone who watches Fox on Sunday afternoons to feel that they’ve made a worthwhile investment of their three hours. It’s valuable time for busy and hardworking individuals. We owe it to them to deliver on that investment. So, really, it’s about maximizing our potential. For me, that means drawing from nearly three decades of high-level soccer experience, which allows me to entertain, inform, and create a meaningful viewing experience.
As a special partner for the Raiders, I’m eager to see Silver & Black relive those glorious years under Al Davis and John Madden. I want our team to be filled with skilled players who have the right mindset—people who are coachable and committed to pursuing team success the right way. I’d love to help revitalize the culture of our franchise, which boasts a rich tradition and a long history in professional soccer.
I’ve got a deep love for soccer. At its core, it’s a game rooted in principles. Given all the success it has brought me, I feel a strong moral and ethical responsibility towards the sport. And while my various roles may sometimes seem conflicting—perhaps even delusional at times—they actually reflect my obligation to the game. It’s about evolving, growing, and improving the sport that gave me so much.
I enjoy discussing soccer with everyone—fans, friends, players, coaches. I relish the chance to share what I’ve learned to help others reach their potential in sports. This drive to help others was a significant motivation during my 23 years of playing, and I’ve always been open to assisting those trying to improve. I want them to have the opportunity to experience the success I had. This desire extends to everyone associated with the Raiders and to all who contribute to each game I broadcast. I hope everyone plays their best, does their job effectively, and ultimately finds success. The sport and the NFL as a business depend on it.
