Former Saints player speaks out against Eagles' offense

Critique of Eagles Offense from Drew Brees

The Philadelphia Eagles might be off to a strong start, potentially remaining undefeated in the first three weeks of the 2025 season, yet Drew Brees, the renowned former quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, has voiced his doubts about their offense.

Conversations around the Eagles have often centered on their use of the “Tush Push” technique, yet interestingly, the team ranks 27th in the league for total yards and eighth in points scored.

Brees shared his thoughts on ESPN’s “First Take,” expressing criticism. “I respect Philadelphia; they’re winning. But honestly, I find their offensive approach pretty dull,” he remarked, notably omitting Jalen Hurts from his list of top quarterbacks in the NFL at the moment. “It’s just not exciting, I’m sorry.” He added a reminder: “We’re only in week three… so, let’s see how they develop.”

Despite this critique, the Eagles managed three wins, although they faced a tougher challenge against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week four, edging out the Dallas Cowboys 24-20.

Interestingly, Super Bowl champion Nick Forres has also criticized the “Tush Push,” referring to it as a “protesh push.”

In one memorable game against the Los Angeles Rams, the Eagles found a way to clinch victory at 33-26, despite facing a blocked field goal and a subsequent touchdown from Jordan Davis.

The pace of their offense seemed to fluctuate, and players acknowledged this struggle during the week. “I think in the second half, under pressure, I relaxed a bit and just played,” one player mentioned. “I don’t want to complicate things too much. We just needed to play the way we know we can. It’s great that we can adapt our style and still win.”

AJ Brown also chimed in with some encouragement for his teammates, stating, “Let your instincts take over: play quickly, play aggressively.”
