Terry Bradshaw Questions Steelers’ Current Roster

One former Steelers legend has expressed doubt about the current strength of the team’s roster, offering an unvarnished and direct opinion on their condition.

Terry Bradshaw, during an interview with USA Today, made headlines when he stated, “they don’t have a team.”

Reflecting on the franchise’s history, Bradshaw mentioned, “They’ve always been competitive, but they’ve been competitors of the past. They are not competitors. They’re not. From what I observed, they’re not competitors. And they haven’t been for a while. They’re not candidates for five years.” It’s quite a strong statement, and it pinpoints a reality that many fans might be feeling.

While the Steelers typically make it to the postseason, it’s worth noting that they haven’t won a playoff game in nearly a decade, with their last victory coming against the Patriots during the 2017 AFC Championship Game.

This season, Pittsburgh started with a 2-1 record after wins against the Jets and Patriots, but Bradshaw’s concerns remained unchanged. “They don’t have a team. It takes offense, takes defense, takes everything. It takes coaching,” he stated, clearly frustrated with the current state of affairs.

Interestingly, Bradshaw isn’t the only former player voicing concerns. Ben Roethlisberger, another Steelers great, has also criticized the team. During his podcast, he pointed out potential issues with the coaching and hinted that upcoming games might not go well, especially with the team set to face the Vikings in Ireland. He acknowledged the talent of the opposing coaching staff and expressed concern about how the Steelers’ defense would hold up.

It seems that both legends share a common concern: a palpable sense of uncertainty surrounding the Steelers’ future performance.
