This Weekend in Sports: Exciting Events Ahead

It’s going to be a thrilling weekend for sports fans.

Things kick off on Friday with the Ryder Cup, a celebration that will last all three days. Then, Saturday rolls in with some college football. Notably, there are important matchups, especially between Alabama and Georgia, as well as Oregon and Pennsylvania. It feels like a big time for college football.

On Sunday, the NFL takes center stage. There’s a midday CT game featuring the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, both of whom are undefeated. Later in the afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs will battle the Baltimore Ravens, both seeking to shake off tough starts this season. It’s reminiscent of playoff clashes from two years back. Also, I think I heard something about Mika Parsons being traded to the Packers last month.

This weekend is shaping up to be quite special. Make sure you stock up your fridge and find a comfy spot on the couch. And don’t forget, since there’s football on Sunday mornings too, you might want to have something breakfast-like on hand. Just saying—this weekend definitely has its own vibe.

Oh, and there’s a noteworthy NFL first this Sunday: the league’s initial international game of the season will be held in Dublin. There have been efforts to bring the NFL to Ireland for quite some time. I even had conversations with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Julian Edelman about this in the past. It’s finally happening!

To commemorate this milestone, Jameson Irish Whiskey has introduced a special item for football enthusiasts—a unique leather football flask. It’s a real regulation-sized football that can accommodate a 750ml bottle of Jameson whiskey. They’re releasing this handmade Jameson football flask for $109.99 starting Thursday, September 25, and it looks like it’ll include a bottle of whiskey as well. Stock might not last forever.

This weekend will be a significant moment for experiencing the NFL in Dublin.

The game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers is set to kick off in Dublin at 9:30 AM on Sunday.
