Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6 Recap
So, the latest episode of Peacemaker really took a turn. Dwayne Johnson’s quote about the DC Universe possibly changing feels a bit over the top, but, well, it does capture the vibe.
**Spoiler Alert: Season 2 Episode 6 of Peacemaker is currently streaming on HBO Max**
If you tuned in, you probably found yourself a bit stunned as Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) heads to Belle Reve, the notorious Super Max prison that pops up often in the DC storyline. It’s quite a surprise, especially considering it sets the stage for later revelations. Lex Luthor, portrayed by Nicholas Holt, makes an unexpected entrance.
In the initial scenes, Flag grapples with the loss of his mismatched crew—Peacemaker (John Cena), Adebayo (Daniel Brooks), Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), and the rest. He believes the only way forward is to explore this mysterious dimensional portal linked to Superman. Now, he doesn’t outright mention who’s pursuing him at the prison, but it’s pretty clear when Holt, with a cane, walks into the convo.
Their interaction is brief, but it creates an interesting dynamic. The discussion about the peacekeeping initiative becomes a means for ex-characters to spill secrets that might aid Flag. Given that Lex was just brought to Belle Reve at the conclusion of Superman, he still has an arsenal of weapons and technology that could turn the tide.
Rick discovers that his negotiations might hinge on getting something out of Bell Rev. This leads them to another Supermax facility, “Van Cal,” situated near Metropolis. This deal also drags in Argus and DC Villain, hinting at broader alliances with characters from the Superman sequel, Tomorrow’s Man.
It’s certainly a shocker to have Lex show up in Peacemaker, but with both series becoming more connected, it wasn’t completely out of left field. Early on, Flag and Peacemaker made their appearances alongside characters like Hawk Girl (Isabella Merced) and Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), which helps weave them together.
There’s also some buzz about David Corenswet potentially guest-starring in episodes 7 or 8, given that the filming occurred back-to-back. It would be exciting to see crossover moments unfold.
For now, we’re enjoying Lex’s return as one of DC’s iconic villains.
The first six episodes of Peacemaker Season 2 are available for streaming now. New episodes drop on HBO Max at 9 PM.
