Trump Attends 2025 Ryder Cup with Granddaughter
President Donald Trump was spotted at the 2025 Ryder Cup, taking his granddaughter, Kai Trump, along for the event at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York.
On Friday, the GOP president arrived via his helicopter to kick off the tournament, which is the 45th installment of this prestigious golf event.
In a light-hearted moment, Trump shared with reporters that he decided to attend after watching Team USA lose their first three games prior to the 16th hole.
“The team isn’t doing very well,” he remarked. “So when I heard that, I said, ‘Let’s go on a plane, we have to try and help them!’”
As they arrived, the crowd welcomed them with cheers singing “America.” The national anthem was performed by firefighters, complemented by a flyover of four jets.
This event marked Trump’s first appearance at his third sporting event this month; he had previously attended the 2023 LIV Golf Tournament in Bedminster, New Jersey, and the US Open Men’s Finals, as well as a game featuring the New York Yankees.
Interestingly, Trump is the first sitting US president to attend a Ryder Cup.
Several golfers expressed that Trump’s attendance was significant for the competition. Team USA’s Captain, Keegan Bradley, mentioned, “I am deeply honored that the President of the United States will support our team in the Ryder Cup.” He further noted the importance of representing the country in such a venue.
Tyrell Hutton, a British golfer from Team Europe, commented, “It’s no surprise he wants to be here and enjoy the atmosphere; Trump loves golf.”
The Ryder Cup will conclude on Sunday, with Team Europe hoping to become the first visiting team to win since their triumph in 2012.
Kai Trump also got a chance to showcase a new clothing line, sporting a sweatshirt that featured initials in patriotic colors.
