Tragic Passing of Makena White, Girlfriend of Golf Pro Jake Knapp
Makena White, the girlfriend of PGA Tour golfer Jake Knapp, has sadly passed away at the age of 28, as confirmed by those close to her.
A friend shared the news on social media, expressing deep sadness: “With a heavy heart, I’m writing to tell you all that Makena has left us earlier this week. She was deeply loved by her father, family, friends, and of course her dogs, Nelly and Fergie.”
White’s dog references highlight her affection for her pets, a detail that gives a glimpse into her personal life.
The post reminisced about White’s remarkable ability to make people feel special. “She had this unique way about her. Being loved by Makena was a true gift. Her huge heart made us laugh endlessly and enjoy so many joyful, albeit confusing, moments as we attempted to keep pace with her travel plans.”
There was also a call for support to the Bruyère Brain Health & Memory Clinic and the Griffin Bell Endowment Fund, encouraging donations in her memory.
“If you want to honor Makena’s memory, contributions to the Brain Health & Memory Clinic or the Griffin Bell Fund would be greatly appreciated,” it mentioned.
White’s mother had been visiting the clinic since 2018 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, and in a poignant social media post from 2022, White shared about her mother’s passing.
As for the specifics of White’s death, no additional details have been made public at this time.
Fox News Digital has reached out for a comment from Knapp’s representative but has not received a response. Knapp is currently not in the lineup for the US team at the New York Ryder Cup. Last month, the FedEx St. Jude Championship highlighted impressive records in professional golf.
This year, White attended the Masters Tournament where Knapp placed 55th. For his birthday in May, she referred to him as her “best friend.” Such mentions add a personal touch to their relationship, making the loss feel all the more profound.
