Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson experienced a frightening car accident recently that left her a bit shaken.
“I called around 3 a.m.,” her mother, June Shannon, shared on Instagram. “You can hear Alana screaming in the background.”
Shannon explained that Alana was on her way to a hair appointment when another vehicle crashed into hers, striking the side. She mentioned the driver who caused the incident admitted to not paying attention and said they were going 40 mph.
“They’re always speeding around her,” Shannon added, emphasizing how dangerous the situation was. Alana, who is 23, was taken to the hospital because she was experiencing back pain and headaches.
“She got hit on the driver’s side; it could have been much worse,” said Shannon in a video update.
The reality TV star also mentioned she was heading to the airport, likely to rent a car for her daughter after the accident.
In a light-hearted moment, Alana had said, “I got slammed a bit, but everything else is fine,” indicating her strong spirit despite the circumstances.
Interestingly, a representative for Thompson did not respond to inquiries about the incident right away.
Thompson, who moved to Denver in 2023 to live with her boyfriend while attending Regis University, unfortunately had to miss the first day of her nursing program’s clinical trials due to the accident.
Shannon told a news outlet that while the situation was unfortunate, she was thankful that things didn’t end worse. She recalled a video showing her daughter hesitating in traffic for about 10-15 seconds before the collision occurred, suggesting that a quicker decision could have drastically changed the outcome.
