Shooting Incident at Michigan Church Leaves One Dead

Authorities report a tragic situation involving at least 10 gunshot victims, including one fatality, following a shooting during a Sunday service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Michigan.

In a press conference, the Grand Blanc Township Police Department revealed that a 40-year-old male suspect crashed his vehicle into the church’s entrance before opening fire amidst the sermon.

Subsequently, the building caught fire, which investigators believe was part of the shooter’s intentions. An officer responded and neutralized the suspect.

While the fire has been put out, officials anticipate that more victims might be discovered in the remnants of the building. Investigators continue to explore the motive behind this horrific act and plan to provide updates later today.

Initial reports from police indicated “multiple victims,” confirming that the “shooter is down” and reassuring the public that “there is NO threat at this time.” Notably, the church was “actively on fire” as authorities issued their initial statement. A reunification area for those affected has been established nearby.

Video footage captured the church engulfed in flames as emergency responders arrived at the scene during the active shooting incident.

Kash Patel, the director of the FBI, stated they are closely monitoring the disturbing events and that agents are on-site to support local law enforcement.

“Violence in a place of worship is a cowardly and criminal act. Our prayers are with the victims and their families during this terrible tragedy,” Patel expressed.

Attorney General Pam Bondi echoed this sentiment, describing the violence as “heartbreaking and chilling,” urging the community to come together in prayer for those affected.

Bondi mentioned that she is receiving ongoing updates about the situation as agents head to assist at the scene.

This incident occurs just a day after the passing of 101-year-old church president, Russell M. Nelson.

This is a developing story.
