Giants' Jaxson Dart matches Tim Tebow's Week 4 performance

Giants’ Rookie QB Jackson Dart Shines in Win

New York Giants’ rookie quarterback Jackson Dart had a standout performance in the team’s first win of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. He not only threw a touchdown but also rushed for one, netting 54 yards on the ground as the Giants edged out a 21-18 victory.

Dart’s contributions included completing 20 of 13 passes for 111 yards, marking a significant achievement in his debut start. He became the second quarterback since Tim Tebow in 2010 to score both a passing and rushing touchdown in his first start.

“I feel quite confident in my rookie quarterback,” remarked Giants head coach Brian Daboll. “But, you know, he’s still learning. There were some mistakes—nothing too surprising—just part of the process.”

Interestingly, according to NFL records, Dart is the first quarterback in 23 years to win his first start against a team that was unbeaten at the time, a feat last accomplished by Mark Bulger in 2002.

As a first-round draft pick like Tebow, Dart’s road to success seems to be closely watched. It’s interesting to see how he navigates this early stage of his career compared to past stars.
