Titans Struggle with 0-4 Start Following Loss to Texans
Titans quarterback Cam Ward was blunt about the team’s dismal 0-4 record after they suffered a 26-0 defeat to the Texans on Sunday.
Ward, who was the top pick in the NFL Draft earlier this year, seemed visibly frustrated while discussing the team’s lack of cohesion amidst their four losses. “If we keep this up, we’re in trouble,” he stated, completing 10 of 26 passes for 108 yards along with one interception. “We’re at zero wins. At this point, we really have nothing to lose. We’ve already given away a quarter of the season. We haven’t done much yet. We need to focus, especially individually. The entire team—offensive line, special teams—needs to come together as one.”
“We haven’t played as a team this season. That’s something we’ve tried to emphasize every day. We need to perform better, but it has to show on Sundays. So far, it hasn’t, but it has to change next week,” he added.
The Titans are scheduled to face the Cardinals (2-2) in Arizona next Sunday.
“Honestly, when was the last time we won in Tennessee? I couldn’t tell you,” Ward admitted. “What matters is that we want to win. Everyone in this locker room feels the same way. We need a victory, and that’s all there is to it.”
Titans kicker Joey Slye further complicated matters by missing two field goals in the first half of the game.
The loss marked Tennessee’s tenth consecutive defeat dating back to last season. Their last win was a close 32-27 matchup against Houston on November 24.
Amidst these challenges, second-year head coach Brian Callahan, under increasing pressure, addressed his job security. “I’m just showing up and doing my best,” he said. “It really falls on our staff, and we’re doing everything we can to get it together and secure some wins. It’s a tough reality in this league, but I’m focused on the work.”
In a turn of events, Houston managed to score three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, achieving their first win of the 2025 season. Meanwhile, Tennessee’s defense allowed Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud to complete 22 of 28 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns.
Looking ahead, the Texans will compete against the Ravens (1-3) in Baltimore next Sunday.
