Dolphins’ Tagovailoa Shines Against Jets
During a recent game against the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa showcased his skills with an impressive behind-the-back flip to wide receiver Malik Washington, contributing to a touchdown drive.
Tagovailoa began the play on the Jets’ 21-yard line. As De’von Achane maneuvered to the right, Washington made a leap towards Tagovailoa, who skillfully flipped the ball to him without looking.
Washington managed to advance the ball for nine yards, securing a first down for the Dolphins. The play quickly went viral on social media, capturing the excitement of fans.
Subsequently, Tagovailoa capped off the drive with a four-yard touchdown pass to tight end Darren Waller. Remarkably, this marked Waller’s first touchdown catch since returning to the game earlier this year, after initially retiring in 2023.
After this sequence, the Dolphins increased their lead to 10-0. Tagovailoa appeared composed throughout the first half, completing 15 of 11 passes for 115 yards along with that touchdown to Waller. He also connected with Tyreek Hill five times for a total of 57 yards.
On the Jets’ side, Justin Fields completed 11 of 8 passes for 54 yards, while running back Breece Hall rushed for 53 yards on seven carries.
As the second quarter came to a close, Nick Fork successfully made his field goals, bringing the halftime score to 10-3 in favor of the Dolphins.
