Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Split After 19 Years
The recent separation between Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban caught many by surprise, but sources close to the couple suggest it was expected for some time. One insider commented that it was “really not a secret,” noting that the couple had been living apart for a while.
According to another source, those familiar with Urban felt that the split was somewhat inevitable. They had, allegedly, been leading separate emotional and physical lives for some time, with one source remarking that Urban had subtly established his own space, indicating a significant shift in their relationship.
Neither Kidman, 58, nor Urban, 57, have publicly addressed their separation. Requests for comments from their representatives went unanswered.
Kidman’s family has reportedly come together in support during this difficult time, with sources indicating that her sister played a supportive role. While she didn’t want the marriage to end and fought to keep it intact, the reality of their lives diverging seemed to take its toll.
The couple first crossed paths at an event in Australia in 2005, marrying a year later in Sydney. They have two daughters together, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Reports mention that they had been living apart since the start of summer, with public appearances together becoming less frequent.
Interestingly, their last public outing was in June at the FIFA Club World Cup match in Nashville, where they appeared together for the last time.
After the split became public knowledge, Kidman shared a heartfelt post on Instagram to commemorate what would have been their 19th anniversary, showcasing their bond through a collection of black-and-white photos.
Since the split, both Kidman and Urban have maintained busy schedules but on separate paths. Kidman is currently filming “Practical Magic 2” in London, while Urban is on tour, with his next performance slated for October 2 in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Before their separation, the couple had established unique communication rules. Kidman previously mentioned that they preferred phone calls over texting to avoid misunderstandings. They emphasized open dialogue and transparency, believing that “no secrets” were essential to their relationship.
This split is not the first for Kidman, who was previously married to actor Tom Cruise. The two adopted children together before their divorce in 2001.
