Sylvester Stallone reveals he feels anxious about A-lister joining 'Tulsa King'

Sylvester Stallone Opens Up About Samuel L. Jackson’s Involvement in “The Tulsa King”

Sylvester Stallone recently shared his feelings about working alongside Samuel L. Jackson in the upcoming season three of “The Tulsa King.” In a frank conversation, he mentioned feeling a certain pressure when he found out that Jackson would be joining the cast.

Stallone expressed, “When I learned it was happening, I thought, ‘Oh, this is going to turn into a fistfight. I mean, who lands the first blow, like boxers in the ring?'” But it sounds like the reality was quite different from his initial thoughts.

At 79, Stallone leads the show as Dwight “General” Manfredi, a mafia boss sent to Tulsa. Jackson, 76, comes into play as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a former con artist, setting the stage for a potentially explosive dynamic.

Instead of a dramatic face-off, Stallone described their relationship as having a synergistic quality. “When he walked in and said, ‘Hey, dude, man,’ I thought, ‘Okay, we’re going to get along just fine.’ And we really did,” Stallone continued. “We ended up creating this show called ‘Tulsa King and the Buddy.’ It just clicked.”

Interestingly, despite having lived so close—just a hundred yards apart—for nearly three decades, the two had never collaborated before. “To think we were neighbors for all that time and didn’t even cross paths,” Stallone noted. “Work kept us busy. Outside of occasional events, we had no real connection until now.”

It seems both actors have taken different paths over the years, yet they are now coming together for deeper roles. “I suppose he mentioned he had done nearly everything,” Stallone remarked. “These days, it’s nice to feel a bit more grounded and to have the chance to really develop a character over more than just a few days or gigs.”

Reflecting upon his journey to fame and the inherent mistrust he felt, Stallone said, “Looking back, I wish I had appreciated it more. But in the moment, survival was the priority. You sometimes think, ‘Maybe I won’t make it, but I need to give it my all, 100% instead of just trying to get by.'”

Fox News Digital has reached out to representatives for Stallone and Jackson for further comments.
